Our Adoption Timeline

• February 5, 2012:  Decision made to adopt
• June 18, 2012:  Mailed my (Prudence) passport application
• July 2, 2012:  Mailed Lifeline Agency's adoption application
• July 5, 2012:  Received email from Lifeline that application was being processed and we would be contacted within 3-5 business days by our Social Worker.
• July 6, 2012:  Received passport in the mail.
• July 10, 2012:  Lifeline Application Accepted
• July 11, 2012:  Received our Welcome Call from Social Worker. 
• July 12, 2012:  Mailed in initial paperwork and first installment payment so that our Orientation Interview can be scheduled.
• July 16, 2012:  Fingerprints done and SBCN Application Forms mailed.
• July 18, 2012:  Orientation Interview
• August 2, 2012:  First Home Study Interview
• August 24, 2012:  Second set of Home Study Interviews (Individual Interviews for Les and I)
• September 4, 2012:  Home Visit for Home Study
• September 8, 2012:  Crossings Training at Lifeline Children's Services
• September 10, 2012:  Complete NCFA Parent Training course
• September 11, 2012:  Third and Fourth Home Study Interviews
• September 20, 2012:  Physicals, blood work, etc
• October 3, 2012:  Home Study Approved
• October 4, 2012:  Mailed second agency payment.
• October 9, 2012:  Mailed i600A application and application fee to agency.
• October 10, 2012:  Agency mailed our i600A application and approved home study to Homeland Security for Immigration approval.
• November 2, 2012:  Biometric Fingerprints Appointment and Dossier Appointment
• November 14, 2012:  Dossier sent to facilitator in Ukraine for translation
• November 23, 2012:  Immigration approval received (Scanned to facilitator)
• November 23, 2012:  Dossier submitted to SDA
• December 11, 2012:  Travel appointment at Agency.  Paid remaining agency fees.
• December 24, 2012:  SDA approved our dossier
• December 27, 2012:  Received SDA appointment (January 23, 2012)
• December 28, 2012:  Sent Lifeline remaining balance of foreign program expense
• January 20, 2013:  Left for Ukraine
• January 21, 2013:  Arrived in Ukraine
• January 23, 2013:  1st SDA Appointment
• January 30, 2013:  2nd SDA Appointment
• January 31, 2013:  Picked up referral from SDA and traveled to Donetsk
• February 1, 2013:  Met kids for the first time! (In Map'ihcbka)
• February 7, 2013:  Kids agreed to be adopted!
• February 15, 2013:  Paperwork submitted to SDA
• February 28, 2013:  Received SDA approval to officially adopt Leeza, Kayl, and Marsha
• March 1, 2013:  Court date and decision of approval to adopt Leeza, Kayl, and Marsha!
• March 2, 2013:  I (Prudence) returned home
• March 11, 2013:  Court decision became official
• March 12, 2013:  Obtained kids original birth certificates
• March 12, 2013:  Obtained new birth certificates for the kids with us listed as their parents!
• March 13, 2013:  Applied for passports
• March 19, 2013:  Received passports
• March 20, 2013:  Medical exam
• March 21, 2013:  Embassy appointment - Visas issued!
• March 22, 2013:  Les and the kids flew out of Kiev, Ukraine and arrived home in Birmingham, AL!!!!!!!!
